Veteran actor-politician Nafisa Ali Sodhi, 68, is battling stage 4 peritoneal cancer and has resumed chemotherapy sessions after a brief delay due to an allergy.
Initial Delay and Current Treatment
Nafisa’s initial chemotherapy was delayed post-surgery because of an allergy, but she has now resumed her sessions. She is scheduled for six chemo-cycles for six Wednesdays and is optimistic that the treatment will help knock out the remaining bad cells.
Support System and Plans
Nafisa relies on her family, healing music, and meditation to fight the big battle against cancer. Her grandchildren are her support system, especially since she has to stay indoors to avoid post-chemo allergies and infections. She is looking forward to a planned break in Goa after her third session and plans to stay in Manali with her daughter and kids.
Despite the challenges, Nafisa remains resolute and shared a post about going back to indoor exercising, saying, “I am healing, my doctor says. And I am consciously going slow and taking one step a day, life is beautiful, no way one can give up.”
